Whoever said “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” was wrong.
Words cut deeper than a knife, bruise more than stones, and hurt worse than a kick in the behind.
A few small words can be perceived in a way that may seem terrible to many, but much differently if they see the big picture.
A few small words can tear someone down, and take away their hope.
A few small words can plant seeds of fear that grow into massive trees of tangled pain.
A few small words can take away all a person has worked for, all they have embraced.
One small word can change everything.
One small word can build up a person and so that they may defeat a giant.
One small word can give hope to a person trapped in the belly of a fish.
One small word can save many souls.
One small word, when considered during anger, disappointment, fear, and loss…can secure a heart.
Jesus speaks this word. He lives this word. He commands this word.
Love.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14
