I’m always seeking to grow and learn more about loving others the way Christ loves…if you know me, then you know this is true. I love to grow, love to love, and love to write about it. I’m an encourager and love to help others recognize their strengths and build their confidence. I write a lot on this blog about relationships, coping, overcoming difficulty, and hope.
I had a few heartbreaks in my life and could easily have given up on love. I even thought, hmmm, maybe it isn’t God’s will for me to have a good man who loves me. But then, I thought about how God designed marriage and love. A husband and wife together are the image of God: the man is that image of God as protector, warrior, strength, and wisdom; woman is that image of God as nurturer, compassion, support, love, and a safe haven. So, if God designed that kind of love, and He so perfectly loves me, why would I give up on Him in sending me a man that would love me like Christ loves the church? I decided I was not giving up on love. I prayed for a man that would love me with 1 Corinthians 13 and Galatians 5 (fruits of the Spirit) kind of love. God gave me that man soon after. I constantly have to pinch myself to realize this amazing man, is my husband?! He is kind, funny, sweet, considerate, strong, smart, affectionate, loving, fun, patient, hard working, determined, and compassionate. Wow. He is a blessing beyond what I ever dreamed I would find. I often tell him I think he was dropped straight from Heaven into my life.
So, here we are with this amazing marriage. We are good at it. It’s not at all difficult for us, but rather it is simply natural and easy for us to do this marriage thing.
Never give up on love. Never give up on God. If you know me, then you know I just don’t give up on hope.
You never know what is around the corner.
