When a fat, fuzzy bee stung me, You dried my tears and put tobacco on my sting
With your tie around your ears, Silly songs you would sing
You won every race you ran
And you would run backwards, I thought you were the man
You played paper dolls and let me roll your hair
And always had a war story to share
You checked the yard for snakes before I could play
Overprotective to some, but safe I would stay
You grew okra in your garden, better than candy to me
You loved juicy fruit, werthers, and our favorite – icees
I miss you Big Papa and Daddy so dear
I am thankful you both taught me of my Father so near
He is in my heart and loves me – this I know
Thank you for helping me grow
I miss you both.
