You aren’t there or there. Rest here. Where you are.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

We worry. Have such anxiety. People can’t function, can’t sleep, can’t eat, or eat too much…because of worry. Worry about the past. Worry about the future.

So, press pause.

Picture a table lamp.

Here ya go…

So, picture taking the shade off the lamp and placing the lamp at your feet.

With the lamp on the ground focused on your feet, would you be able to see far behind you?

Would you be able to see in the room you just came from?

Would you be able to see in the room you are going toward?

No.

Jesus is the Word. He is the Word and the Word is the lamp unto our feet.

He wants you to BELIEVE that he has forgiven your past. When you ask for forgiveness it is gone. You may have some who do not count you as worthy. But Jesus counts you as worthy.

You may have some who don’t count you as good enough because of your past choices and/or circumstances. It is gone. It is dark. The light doesn’t shine there anymore. There is no need to focus on things we can’t do anything about.

What about worrying about tomorrow? Nope. The light is at our feet.

Jesus wants us to rest on the step we are on. Breathe on the step we are on. Don’t try to run ahead into the darkness.

Rest here where the light shines so brightly. Stay where the lamp is at your feet.

What about the future?

He is a light unto our paths. That lamp will move to the next step, and then we follow.

He prepares the way and we need to move in his time.

Rest on the step you are on.

Breathe.

Believe.

Believe.

Breathe. Here. Here is the only place you can possibly be. Stop trying to be there or there.

Breathe. Believe. Here in the light.

Move only with the light.

Rest.
