unveiled and untangled

Unveiled and Untangled
Under the stars, under the sea, under the tree with the red and yellow leaves
Under the wind whistling through the barn, under the moon round – golden and orange
Under their breath, I hear them whisper…living death
Under their stares, I feel sharp pain through glares
Under my hotdog, mustard drops on my new pink shirt and I feel like a slob
Under my stain, beats my heart of pain
Under the pain, my peace.
Unstained.
Under the light is my truth.
Under the spite are my scars.
Under the covers you find my fear.
Underneath it all there is me.
Under the mask is a little girl.
Under the veil is a courageous woman.
Under the tangles are my pearls.
Unveiled and untangled.
